The Mokelumne Rural Fire District was formed in 1946 by a group of men from the Northern Fruit Company in Victor, CA. On February 15th, 1947, the Mokelumne Rural Fire District was officially approved and recognized by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. It was in December of 1947 when the fire district established its first fire station and purchased its first fire engine. The District provides fire protection, suppression and prevention, water rescue, urban search and rescue, and emergency medical services.
The Mokelumne Fire Districts' service boundary is approximately 64 square miles and is located in the northern area of San Joaquin County between the Mokelumne River and Live Oak Road. The District serves the communities of Lockeford and Victor and the rural areas of Lodi.
