Mokelumne Fire District is a local fire department in Lockeford, CA. We cover 64 square miles within our area, and we proudly serve the community throughout Lockeford and beyond.
The Mokelumne Rural Fire District was formed in 1946 by a group of men from the Northern Fruit Company in Victor, CA. On February 15th, 1947, the Mokelumne Rural Fire District was officially approved and recognized by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. It was in December of 1947 when the fire district established its first fire station and purchased its first fire engine.
Our Mission
It is the mission of the Mokelumne Rural Fire Protection District to protect and preserve life and property through prevention, public education, preparation, dedication, and leadership as an All-Risk Emergency Response Agency.
